About

I am a theatre maker from Aberdeen working as a Performer, Director, Acting Tutor and in Research.

I have Fibromyalgia and experience chronic pain and fibro-fog. I perform within these parameteres (often on stage and sometimes on screen), and am represented by VisABLE People.

I specialise in improv and have worked as an Acting Tutor, Visiting Director and Academic Lecturer for Conservatoires and Universities such as The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Mountview, LAMDA and Fourth Monkey Actor Training Company.  I work as a director in fringe theatre; and have recently formed The Lettuce Collective – a semi-improvised play ensemble. My research specialisms cover improv, cognition, narcissist studies (which look at how we relate to being special) and acting/actor training.

I sometimes work in Access Consultancy and Support.  I have a lot of experience working with artists with neurodivergence; and am keen to work more with people or narratives with disabilities that are stigmatised as anti-social.

I’m middle class but grew up on a council estate in Aberdeen connected to Robert the Bruce’s Common Good Fund.  (This fund provided extra provisions for disabled people like a mixed school and a kids plunge pool).

I am happy to be put on Arts Council applications. – Feel free to send me any requests, I really enjoy working in fringe performance.

I often use a walking stick.
